ENTERTAINMENT

Plenty of exercise and entertainment are key to happy cohabitation. All our dogs have the amount of exercise they need and want, with lots of variety thrown in to stimulate brain as much as body. CaniX running, beach walks, swims in the river, woodland hide-&-seeks, off lead walks, enrichment games, dog agility, osteopath treatments, and so on and so forth. No two days at the House of Mutt need ever be the same!

GROOMING

All dogs come home from House of Mutt clean & tidy (what we call on the Check In Form an ‘In-house Refresh’), but if you’d like them to have a full professional groom, fluff dry, nails clipped etc while they are with us, just let us know and all can be arranged! Rates and availability should be discussed on booking, and in the meantime a guideline of the services we offer can be found in the Footer below.

TRAINING

House of Mutt training is all about aiding better communication between dog and owner. That happy situation where your dog understands you, and you understand him/her. Understanding leads to happiness! We carry out in-house training at HoM Old Rectory and HoM Main Barn (socialisation, impulse control, manners, house training, recall, lead work, agility, etc). Gundog training is also available at HoM Main Barn - either to get your dog ready for the shooting line or just give her some fun fulfilling natural instincts. Contact Sarah for further details

TREATS & RETREATS

Dog ownership should be about you and your dog enjoying each other, it shouldn’t all be rules and regulations! We are always thinking up new ideas and working with top quality partners to create unique House of Mutt experiences. We’ve run a Lucknam Park 5* retreat, we run an annual festival tent at Suffolk’s Red Rooster festival, we organise regular trips to the beach, we organise osteopath and chiropractic treatments. What’s next I wonder?

FOOD

Dogs thrive on the diet and feeding regime they’re accustomed to so the House of Mutt is happy to feed food supplied by owners for the stay. If you’d prefer us to purchase this food on your behalf before your dog’s arrival, we can do so by prior arrangement. Or if you’d prefer to feed our own kibble mix, that’s equally fine.

Taxi

HoM-services-24.jpg

We can collect your dog from home and drop off again. The House of Mutt 4x4s are on the London circuit up to three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday); or for places off that well-beaten track, let us know postcode and we will do our best to accommodate. We are also able to arrange transport to and from abroad, or to organise airport check-in and collections.

Dogs can travel in secure hammocks with harnesses on, or in crated areas if you’d prefer. London charges vary between £110-£150/trip. Outside London, taxis are charged at £1/mile.

We (highly!) recommend that dogs are collected on the HoM taxi at the start of their stay - being collected as opposed to being ‘left’ makes a huge & happy difference to their settling-in experience. A charge will be made for dogs being dropped off at House of Mutt or who are being collected over the weekend.

POSING

Animal portraitists Mouse Cooper and Lucy Perry are on hand, and able to get to know the dogs really well before they start painting.  There’s no hiding behind a photo, these guys grab character too! Rates and options should be discussed on booking.
